We hope you’re hungry for more… the Regional Technology Innovation Awards are back for 2021 with brand new awards categories, awesome merch, a “not Slack”, and a shiny new website!
You’re on this mailing list because we either know you personally, you were present at previous awards, or have previously subscribed to mailing lists. If you’d like to unsubscribe, please click the link at the bottom of this email.
This year’s RTIA has been under construction since March, however like many of your other favourite events this year, COVID got in the way of things…
Put on Rocky Horror’s ‘Time Warp’ and check out our first attempt at an update video.
We’re still confident however that if there’s enough community support, it’s not too late to throw an awesome awards night.
RTIA’s new website has been launched thanks to Sam Druce at Reelwire Productions. We hope the new website will make it easier to collaborate and share content. Take a look!
Onto the all important award categories – this year we’re aiming for quality over quantity. And the categories are…
- ‘It’ll only take ten minutes…’ award – we feel this one is self explanatory
- ‘Reverse engineering’ award – for ‘creative’ and unorthodox application of any technology
- ‘Customer service’ award – for consistently outstanding tech support
- ‘IoT central’ award – what have you wired up this year?
- ‘Complex made simple’ award – for the brightest and most complex fluff removal
- ‘Longest trip for nothing’ award – back by popular demand, how far have you gone unknowingly pursuing futility?
- This list is still to be finalised, so we’re asking for feedback from the RTIA community – let us know what categories you’d like to see before Sunday 17 October.
Now that you’ve had almost a whole year to come up with creative, inspiring, and straight up hilarious nominations, we’re expecting some crackers.
Nominations will be opening shortly and we’ll let you know via email.
In the usual style, you can nominate yourself, your team, your peers, or anyone else in the community you feel has used technology to deliver innovative, complex, or unorthodox solutions in regional Australia.
Until then, and by popular demand, we’ve established a virtual town hall for the RTIA community. RTIA’s GatherTown is a space to talk (and vent about) anything tech. Create an account here, if prompted the password is “RTIA2021”.
This year we’re aiming to host the awards in late November/early December and we’re working to finalise a date and venue.
Don’t forget that the awards are run for the community and to bring people together – if you have feedback, ideas, or suggestions, we’d love to hear them. Email contact@rtia.network.
Please feel free to share this email amongst your friends and peers.
Welcome to the 2021 Regional Technology Innovation Awards.
